How do I use the guided meditation?

Mindful Slumber’s guided meditations are a powerful tool to enhance your sleep experience and achieve your dream yoga goals. Here’s a step-by-step guide to using them:

Planning Your Sleep with Guided Meditations:

  • Open the Mindful Slumber app and tap on the Sleep Planner section on the home tab.
  • Plan your sleep schedule: Set your desired sleep duration and sleep start. Maintaining a consistent sleep schedule regulates your body’s natural sleep-wake cycle (known as your circadian rhythm). This leads to deeper sleep, increased energy levels, and improved mood throughout the day.
  • Choose your goals: Mindful Slumber offers a variety of personalized guided meditations for different goals. Do you want to improve dream recall, promote lucid dreaming, or generate positive karma in your sleep? Select the meditation that best aligns with your desired outcome, and we will generate a personalized meditation just for you!

Activating Your Guided Wind-Down Meditation:

  • Once you’ve set your sleep schedule and chosen a meditation goal, the Mindful Slumber app will notify you when your wind-down meditation is scheduled to begin. This ensures you’re relaxed and ready for sleep when the meditation starts.
  • Tap the notification to launch the meditation. Find a comfortable position to lie down or sit, close your eyes, and focus on the calming voice guiding you through the meditation.
  • Follow the meditation prompts: The guided meditation will use techniques like breathwork, visualization, and affirmations to prepare you for a restful sleep or a lucid dreaming experience, depending on your chosen goal.
  • Drift off to sleep: After the meditation concludes, you’ll be in a relaxed state conducive to deep sleep or lucid dreaming.

Additional Tips:

  • Use headphones for an immersive experience.
  • Maintain a healthy sleep schedule for optimal results. Consistency is key!
  • Avoid stimulants before sleep. For optimal results you should avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol for at least 4 hours before your meditation.
